The Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF) has kicked-off a major project in honor of the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Tampa in August. Each presidential election year, CUNA works with the states that host the Democratic and Republican conventions on a "leave-behind" service project.

This year CUNA, the SECUF, and the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation as the Democratic National Convention is in Charlotte in September, will work together to build playgrounds in each host city at its local CMN designated children's hospital. It will take $300,000 in each city to complete the project and is scheduled to be completed by the summer of the conventions.

We encourage all of our credit unions, both locally and nationally, to support this great cause to help credit unions make a lasting impression in each of these cities. There are numerous ways to get involved; through corporate and individual contributions, as well as, volunteer opportunities throughout the building of each playground.

Children and their families who find themselves at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg will have a new place to take a respite come this fall, thanks to a project coordinated by the SECUF.

All contributions for this project will go toward the building of a handicap-accessible playground and retreat for children and their families who find themselves at the hospital.
